Opening a Trade Account with Premium Poultry

If you’ve been buying chicken from the supermarket or a cash-and-carry and you’re ready to move to a wholesale supplier, the paperwork is usually the part people put off. It doesn’t need to take long. Here’s how opening a trade account with Premium Poultry works, step by step.

1. Have a chat with us first

Before any forms, we like to know what you need. What sort of business you run, which cuts you use, roughly how much each week and where you are in WA. The easiest way is to request a quote or give us a call. We’ll come back to you with pricing for the products you actually buy.

2. Fill in the C.O.D. account application

Our new customer application sets up a cash on delivery account. It asks for the basics: your company name and ABN, director details, delivery address, who looks after accounts, and how you’d like to pay.

You can download it from our account forms page. It’s a fillable PDF, so you can type straight into it in Adobe Acrobat Reader or your browser before you sign it. No printer needed for that one.

3. Sign the terms of trade

The second document is our Terms and Conditions of Trade, together with a guarantee from the directors or proprietors. This one does need to be printed. Each page gets initialled, and each guarantor signs the last page in front of a witness.

It’s a legal document, so take the time to read it. We’d always suggest getting independent advice if anything isn’t clear. The short version of the main points:

  • Payment is cash on delivery unless we’ve agreed otherwise in writing.
  • EFT is fine, as long as the funds have cleared at least 24 hours before your delivery.
  • Any problem with a delivery needs to be reported within 24 hours of receiving it.
  • Credit terms are only available if we approve them separately.

4. Send everything back

Scan or photograph the signed pages and email them to [email protected]. Make sure every page is clear and readable, including the signatures and initials. Blurry phone photos are the most common reason we have to ask for something again.

5. Place your first order

Once we’ve checked your forms, we’ll confirm your account and you can start ordering through your sales rep. We’ll talk through delivery timing for your area, from the Perth metro area out to regional WA.

Who we work with

Our trade customers include restaurants, cafés, caterers, hotels, independent butchers, retailers and pet food makers across Western Australia. Whether you need a few cartons a week or a regular bulk supply, the process is the same.

Questions about any of the forms? Get in touch and we’ll walk you through it.
